    Item Description

    This Lot of Water Damaged Urea Cargo (Approx. 150 Tons)­­­­­ is no longer needed for company's own operation and is being sold as an asset liquidation for its owner.

    Details are listed below:

    • Salvage opportunity for contaminated Urea cargo from hopper barge “MEM 2374B”
    • Cargo affected by water ingress through barge hull
    • Estimated quantity: approximately 150 tons

    Barge is double skin steel welded construction with flush deck, rounded gunwale and bilge’s, raised 5’ coaming around outer perimeter of fiberglass covered cargo hold, square Bow and square Stern buoyancy compartments.

    Barge is typical inland hopper barge design, transversely framed and fitted with five (five) transverse watertight bulkheads forming four (4) Port and Starboard double bottom wing tanks, square bow and square stern buoyancy compartments.

    Bow compartment fitted with one (1) 42” closed chock cast steel at each outer corner, one (1) 10” deck coupling button located along each side, one (1) 42” closed chock cast steel kevel located forward on centerline and one (1) 15” x 23”, 4-dog raised coaming manway to below deck void.

    Port and Starboard outer walking decks each fitted with four (4) 42” closed chock cast steel kevels and one (1) 15” x 23” raised coaming 4-dog access manway to each below deck void.

    Stern compartment fitted with one (1) 42” closed chock cast steel at each outer corner, one (1) 10” deck coupling button located along each side, one (1) 42” closed chock cast steel kevel located forward on centerline and one (1) 15” x 23”, 4-dog raised coaming manway to below deck void.

    UPON EXAMINATION

    THE FOLLOWING WAS FOUND:

    FIBERGLASS COVERS:

    1. All covers were inspected and found with normal repaired cracked areas.
    2. All covers were inspected externally and internally and found to be free of holes and/or areas that would allow ingress of water.

    HULL:

    1. Hull was examined externally from deck down to waterline and found to be waved 0” to 1/2" with scattered 0” to 1” indents.  No holes, plate fractures and/or weld fractures found.

    WATER AMOUNTS:

    Noted water amounts in below deck voids with the following amounts.

                                  Bow – 0”                                                   Stern – 0”

                                  No. 1 Port – 0”                                          No. 1 Starboard – 0”

                                  No. 2 Port – 1’5”                                      No. 2 Starboard – 3”

    • Salvex and the seller have the right to reject any and all offers.
    • This product is sold AS IS, WHERE IS.
    • Buyer is responsible for all taxes, duties, loading and freight charges.
    • Seller does not offer any warranties or manufacturer warranties.
    • Upon receipt of cleared funds, Seller will provide the Buyer a Release Order for item pick up. Title transfers from Seller to Buyer upon issuance of the Release Order.
    • It is Buyer's responsibility to verify quantities and condition at the time of pick up. Once the product has been removed from Seller's location, there will be no adjustments based on quantity or condition.
