The Unwrought Refined Lead Ingots are being sold for the insurance company. According to the claim the bundles were stacked too high and fell through the concrete platform, the ingots were recovered from the Mississippi River and may contain some silt on the surface of the ingots.
The salvage sale consists of four hundred sixty-two (462) bundles unwrought refined lead ingots. Each bundle contains forty-two (42) lead bars in six (6) rows, seven (7) tiers high, banded with steel bands and each bundle weighs approximately 1.1MT. A hard count will be conducted next week to confirm quantity, as there may be several additional bundles.
Date of Loss May 22, 2022. Lead ingots fell into the Mississippi River Port of New Orleans, LA. Recovery efforts for the lead ingots began shortly thereafter and were ongoing through February 2023, and, to date, the contractor advised that four hundred sixty-two (462) ingots have been recovered.
