| Condition | : | Rust is not from sea water sources. Regarding the cause of damage, the surveyor has concluded that most likely the damage was caused due to presence of water moisture in the steel coils. Therefore, due to condensation and presence of air rust had formed on the goods. There was no evidence of structural damage to the container. The cargo surveyor is of the opinion that rust may have formed through the process of condensation due to temperature changes encountered during transit. Rust noted on steel coils would have been caused by moisture trapped between sheets during packaging, transport or storage. This consignment was shipped from S. Korea to Fiji in early March 2018. The items sustained rust at the sides. These coils are used for manufacturing “C” and “Z” purlins for major building projects. The thickness of purlin feed is 2.0 to 2.5 mm thick. All the items are "AS IS, WHERE IS". Buyer is responsible for shipping and handling. |
