Item Description
The ss ADMIRAL is being auctioned by owner to recover funds. This vessel was originally built as the paddlewheel steamer ALBATROS in 1907 at Dubuque Boat and Boiler. She was drydocked in 1920-1921 and lengthened at the Ripley Boat Company. In 1940, the ship underwent extensive conversion from wooden decks to four decks of art-deco luxurious style for a river-liner capacity of 4,400 passengers. She had become a totally new boat, so she was renamed the S.S. ADMIRAL. The only thing remaining the same were its steel hull (4/5's the ship's weight) and remaining steam powered boilers. This new ship, the ADMIRAL, is also recorded as being the largest river cruise ship in the world and the first Mississippi Riverboat to be fully air-conditioned. In 1973-1974 she was converted to diesel engines with horsepower rated at 2,700.
By 1979, the ADMIRAL was converted into a land-based entertainment night club. It's engines were removed and it became permanently moored.

The ADMIRAL has no means of self-propulsion, her engines have been removed.
There are four (4) main levels of floor space to utilize in a number of venues. The A-Deck, B-Deck and D-Deck each have approximately 32,485 sqft. C-Deck has approximately 18,000 sqft as it overlooks B-Deck, providing an unobstructed view of the activity and elegance of the ADMIRAL. This vessel would make an excellent entertainment, restaurant and/or banquet venue with an amazing atmosphere and rich history not available from any other facility.
Seller Terms
- Salvex and the seller have the right to reject any and all offers.
- This product is sold AS IS, WHERE IS.
- Buyer is responsible for all taxes, duties, loading and freight charges.
- Seller does not offer any warranties or manufacturer warranties.
- Upon receipt of cleared funds, Seller will provide the Buyer a Release Order for item pick up. Title transfers from Seller to Buyer upon issuance of the Release Order.
- It is Buyer's responsibility to verify quantities and condition at the time of pick up. Once the product has been removed from Seller's location, there will be no adjustments based on quantity or condition.
