    • The vehicle was being shipped and a severe impact to the upper section of the unit occurred. The upright beams, masts, hydraulic hoses and lines, chassis structure and cab assembly were crushed and deformed upon impact. This impact shorted out the wiring harness, causing a fire whic h damaged the instrument panel and gauges.
    • In view of the fact that they do not have any facilities to repair the unit here, the damaged unit would have to be shipped back to the factory, in Italy. Additionally, it has been determined that the structural integrity of the unit has been compromised due to the extensive impact to the mast. The chassis of a side loader is the support for the load carrying upright and has not enough flexibility to withstand forces as applied during this accident. The considerable repair attempt will require measurement on a frame bench and pressed out under thermo treatment, which in most cases the axles and mounts needing to be re-welded also.
