    Eight (8) drums were identified as damaged by consignee. These were drum #s 10/15, 7/15, 4/15, 11/15, 13/15, 6/15, 12/15 and 2/15. Damages noted are as follows:
  • 1. Drum # 10/15: Drum crushed, dented and bent on top section of side wall. Outer poly bag (from the double inner poly bags) was torn (see photos 4 to 6). Comment by warehouse personnel on lid indicated "Broken Outer Bag". Plastic seal retained.
  • 2. Drum # 7/15: Drum crushed, dented, bent and torn on bottom section of side wall. The inner bags cut slightly spilling contents (photos 7 to 10). Notation on lid "Broken Bags, Material Spilled". Plastic seal retained.
  • 3. Drum # 4/15: Pushed in and bent/ dented on side wall. Inner packing cut/ torn spilling product (photos 11, 12). Notation on lid "Broken Bags, Material Spilled". Plastic seal retained.
  • 4. Drum # 11/15: Drum stored upside down since bottom section torn and uprooted completely. Inner poly bags torn spilling product. Notation on lid "Material Spilled". See photos 13, 14, 15.
  • 5. Drum # 13/ 15: Top section crushed and deformed heavily. Inner poly bags torn spilling product. Notation on lid " Broken Bags, Material Spilled". See photos 16, 17.
  • 6. Drum # 6/15: Upper section of drum crushed and deformed heavily. Inner poly bags torn spilling product. Notation on lid " Broken Bags, Material Spilled". See photos 18, 19.
  • 7. Drum # 12/15: Heavily crushed and dented side wall. Leakage of product from inner poly bags. See photo 20. Notation on lid " Broken Bags, Material Spilled".
  • 8.Drum #2/15 which was noted to have bent and deformed side wall. Outer poly bag (from the double inner poly bags) was torn. See photos 21 to 23. There was, however, no evidence of leakage of product. The lid contained notation "Broken Outer Bag". Plastic seals were retained.

    What is MUCIC ACID: (derived from the Lat. root ac-, sharp; acere, to be sour) An organic acid, C6H10O8, often derived from milk sugar; obtained by the oxidation of milk, sugar, dulcite, galactose, quercite and most varieties of gum. It forms a crystalline powder which melts at 213° C. It is insoluble in alcohol, and nearly insoluble in cold water. When heated with pyridine to 14° C., it is converted into allomucic acid. When digested with fuming hydrochloric acid for some time it is converted into as furfurane dicarboxylic acid; while on heating with barium sulphide it is transformed into a—thiophene carboxylic acid. The ammonium salt yields on dry distillation carbon dioxide, ammonia, pyrrol and other substances. The acid when fused with caustic alkalies yields oxalic acid.

    • Upon receipt of cleared funds, Seller will provide the Buyer a Release Order for item pick up. Title transfers from Seller to Buyer upon issuance of the Release Order.
    • It is Buyer's responsibility to verify quantities and condition at the time of pick up. Once the product has been removed from Seller's location, there will be no adjustments based on quantity or condition.
